Are we about to see a turning point in the economy?
Alex Mackay shares his thoughts ahead of the Chancellor's Autumn Statement.
Following all the chatter we’ve been hearing/reading over the last few days, we asked our Co-Founder and Owner, Alex Mackay, for his thoughts on the current economy and property market:
“Are we about to see a turning point in the economy? We will all be waiting with bated breath for the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s delivery of the Autumn Statement on Wednesday, especially if we are to believe what we read in the ‘papers suggesting we are going to have a tax cutting statement.
With interest rates now held for two months and the recent announcement of the rate of inflation currently being down 2% we should all feel some confidence that giving something back seems the right thing to do. The property market is in need of a boost, and it appears that we are about to get one.
There are plenty of people still putting their properties on the market and we have seen an increase in activity and sales agreed in the last four weeks.
If you have been sitting on the fence, then now looks like a pretty good time to get on with it.”
