July gave us reasons to be optimistic -

2. Some lenders reduced rates for the first time in months

3. The property market remains stable and active.

Market Commentary

It might be premature to say the worst is over, but there were definitely reasons to be cheerful in July. In addition to the above, we saw some modest support measures launched for borrowers, by way of the Mortgage Charter. Measures include the option to pay interest only for a period, or extend the mortgage term. Read our article for more details.
