To Buy or Not To Buy, that is the question…

This month we ask our Co-Founder and Owner, Alex Mackay, the big property question that everyone’s talking about:

“The question for buyers’ is should we wait until next year?

Will things be any different next year? Will interest rates be different? Will the cost of living have changed? Will there be more or less property for sale?
Good questions all of them.

With a tough market having predominated throughout 2023, we are now seeing increased signs of activity. We certainly have more houses to sell and a real expectation that our valuers have nailed the prices down to where they need to be to generate interest.

Interest rates have held and though possibly could increase a tad, they will certainly be looking to stabilise and quite likely come down next year.

The cost of living held again in September at 6.7% and signs are that prices in the shops are falling.

With a good number of homes for sale, and a large stock of new homes, now has to be a good time to get into the market just before next year.
Why wait?

Those people who are trying to sell now really want to move. So, review your finances and get out there and start house hunting.
It's your time.

It makes sense to try and buy your new home now rather than wait.”
